HAMON 刃文 · The forge

The forge

A Japanese forge, a kajiba, built in HAMON Engine. Walk in from dusk: the approach, the yard, the threshold, and the hearth.

Dusk. A thatched kajiba at the foot of a cedar slope, smoke rising from the roof vent, a warm slit of light at the door.
01 Approach. The kajiba at dusk.
The front of the forge from the yard: heavy thatch, timber walls, stacked charcoal bales, firelight inside the open door.
02 The yard. Charcoal bales and the open door.
The threshold: the room is mostly dark, with the hearth glowing at the far side.
03 The threshold. The room rises out of the dark.
Inside the door: the clay hood over the hearth, sparks and smoke, tools along the wall.
04 Inside. The hearth and its hood.
Close on the hearth: fire in the clay hearth, sparks and smoke, the work block and a coiled rope in the foreground.
05 The hearth.

Native HAMON Engine renders (CPU, 1920×1200, 64 samples), 26 October 2026. Work in progress: the togishi’s corner and the seated figure are still being built.
